Snow!

Supposedly the worst snow we have had in the last 30 years. It was announced just yesterday that it will snow really hard today. It is predicted to be so bad, schools are actually closed today. It was just mild throughout the night and this morning but now at around 4pm earlier it started to come down hard. Everyone is now trying to make their way home now. Genoa is a hilly and curvy city. We are part of the Riviera so technically we enjoy temperate weather. It snows maybe max 1 week altogether in any given year. Sometimes even less. This winter I think we saw about by now 4 days? or is it 3? If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen my horrible attempt at a mini snow angel for my sis which ended up looking more like a bell than an angel. 😛

Please excuse the shaky video and not so good commentary. I heard from the cousin as she was leaving the office that it is sowing heavily and that she is leaving now to get home. I jumped up, got my camera and started filming. Didn’t know what I was going to do about it. I just thought that this might be a good post. See, how hardworking…. >_< Can’t blame the cousin for getting off early. She lives a little further away and to get to her place, the roads are curvier and a lot more steep and narrower than mine. Those who have been to my place will know, that is quite bad. At any one time, only a car can be going either up or down. The other has to find a hole to squeeze in and let the other pass. Worst when there is a bus.

M just went to get the quad bike for tonight. Guess what is our mode of transport today? The little big kid is having fun whenever it snows. 😀 Can’t use our vespas as they are a tad unstable in all this snow and steep curvy roads. Especially with slush and ice. On flat roads, it is fine if we go slow but here in Genoa…..well, dangerous. Where my inlaws stay it is worse. Snow is fine but when it melts and becomes ice there is no way you can get home. My BIL innovative way of getting home is a cardboard box sliding down the road and then on all fours crawl his way back a few metres up to the door. Welcome to Genoa!

So far I am enjoying the snow from the comfort of my office, in front of my desk at work. Ok, technically not working now as I am sneaking in a blog post. This is how I am braving the snow. Now back to work.

It has been a year!!

Whoot!!! Tomorrow is the anniversary of my blog!! So today is the last day of the “year” for my blog. Just a tid bit of useless information.

I have been “writing” blogposts in my head for the past week or so, which can only mean that it is time to get back to blogging. 😛 Though the blog post I have in mind is a little sombre. I am still undecided if i want to pen that down and have if read by the world. I am ok with the people I don’t know reading about it. it is the people I know who might read it is the thing that is stopping me. I know that I can out in a password protected post but that defeats the purpose of a blog doesn’t it? I am still debating. Who knows what will happen in the future. I might just write it down some day.

At the rate that I am going with my blogging, I doubt that I will have a following on my blog. I am such an uninspired, lazy ass blogger.@_@ I don;t even know why I bother. But, I have discovered the joys of instagram. LOL!! If you follow me there, I have more updates there.*Shamelessly promoting myself*. Look for @mouseytong. Lately, I only have myself on the Instagram updates as I am bogged down by work and it is office, meeting, office, meeting, travel, planes, taxis. Nothing interesting. I am not even a fashion blogger but dressing up makes me feel better. 🙂 So, for lack of better updates, I take photos of myself in things that make me happy.

I should definitely say my goodbye for now. This post is not making sense. It is just my ramblings on things that have just popped up. Like the realisation that tomorrow is the anniversary of my blog. Random sh*t!

2013 is here!!

Why, hello! Long time no see. Well about 365 days or so. This is me having a curious conversation with the New Year. 😛

2013 is here. Where did 2012 go? In a way I am glad that it is over but on the other hand another year has passed. Another year older, wiser and everything that goes with the passing of time.

As for resolutions, I have given up on making them years ago. Though one remains on the list of things to do. That is to get in shape. Got the ball rolling on that and I am hoping to keep it going and not gather any moss. Other than that, does living my life to the fullest qualify as a resolution?

I will be boarding soon for yet another flight so here is to wishing everyone especially those of you who have taken the trouble to drop by my blog, a very amazing New Year! May 2013 bring you load of happiness, great health and abundance of wealth. I am Chinese after all…wishing you wealth is never far off. Also without wealth, life is a tad more difficult. 🙂

Look at that face! Who can say no? I can. 🙂 All for his own good though. He is very sensitive to different foods. Starts to scratch like crazy once he eats something that doesn’t agree with him. Here he is eyeing the new batch of Sicilian desserts that just arrived today. Kept pawing at me and resting his head on my desk like this, pleading. I haven’t really been blogging because my computer keeps acting up. Kills the blogging inspiration each time. Every time. 😦 Blogging from my Note just doesn’t feel the same. I prefer a keypad. I like the clickety-clackety feel like a typewriter though not as hard. I have my nails to think about. 😛 Hope to be back with a vengeance when my laptop recovers. Signing off for now. Viva Barcelona!

Presently cruising over the clouds and in 15 mins we will be either making our descent into Barcelona or we will be landing. No worries, I am only writing this on my Note while it is on flight mode so no danger there. Will post once we land or when I get internet access.

Everytime I see beautiful clouds, I think of my sister. Today while cruising I saw this.

This is my last leg of the journey. Took me 7 hours just to get here. Couldn’t get a direct flight from Genoa so I flew via Rome. Cheapest was Alitalia. No choice. I chose instead to have a loooong transit so that my luggage will arrive. Never had much luck with neither Alitalia nor Rome airport. @_@

Lets see if my luggage arrives. *fingers crossed*

Update:
This post was written yesterday and I couldn’t finish writing it then as you can read from above, we were landing soon. Then it was waiting for my luggage, getting a taxi and going to hotel. Checking in. Straight for dinner with my client and back to unpack, shower and get ready for today.

Also, I finally got a local line with some internet access. I am trying to finish this entry but it is not working out too well. I am on site for work. Consistently distracted. 😦

I will try again tonight.

Computer Crisis

I sat down to blog like a hardworking blogger should but once again I encounter the exact same problem that sent me into a frenzy the last time. Read my last post on this. The photo shows what was the cause of my frenzied concern. Does anyone know why this happens?

Is it because I left my laptop in the car and since it is autumn, it got “chilled”? This is so worrying. It has NEVER happened to me before with ALL my other laptops. Mac or otherwise. So sad. 😦

It kind of killed my mood for blogging. Added to it that, I am now also very worried. *doubly sad*

Well, I am going to call it a night. Goose night people. Pray for the save return of my laptop to good working health tomorrow.

Sneaking in a post…

Hello people!!!

It has been a while, I know. Many things have happened and is still happening. When I am not working, rushing to finish all the work, I am catching up on laundry and my “Me” time and of course M time. Other than that, I do anything else but post. This time though, my “Me” time didn’t consist of gym. 😦 I hardly have time to breathe between Padua, London, Milan and Barcelona next week. Between all these places, I have max 2 days back in Genoa. In these 2 days, I catch up on sleep, other work, M and Milo.

Now I am here posting because I got sick. Down with fever, flu and cough and because of this, and work, we pushed back my trip to Milan. I am still going to Milan but only for the weekend. Then next Tuesday I will be on my way to Barcelona for another week of work. I just froze my ass off last week in London for a week. Stressed out too but it was great catching up with friends after work.

I actually want to do anything else but post but I feel guilty not posting. 😛 I also write posts occasionally in my head at the most inappropriate times. hehehehe!!

Besides work there is also another reason for my long absence. While in Bangkok, I did not have great internet connection. It was so crappy that I got so frustrated, I gave up trying to post anything. Then I got to Singapore. After checking in and a day out shopping with my sis, I got all comfy and ready to blog.

Tucked myself under the covers. Turned on my laptop and got a rude shock!! My whole screen was just all black and while lines across!!! With a huge black column right down the right of the screen! 😯 I turned it off and on for 5 times and it was still the same!! I decided that the very next day, I am going to march into the Mac shop and get it checked out.

I tossed and turned the whole night, wondering what could have happened to it? Did I get water into the com? Did I drop it anywhere? But, I hand carried my laptop the entire journey. When? Where? Why??? It was not a good night. The very next day, I went to the Mac service and tried to get it checked out. But I had to leave it for 3-4 working days and I was leaving that evening for Kuala Lumpur. So, in the end, I decided to bring it to the Mac Service shop in KL. It would probably be 3-4 working days too. In the end it was 5 days. Best part of all this worrying was that, there was nothing that they could find wrong with my laptop!! After all this, nothing! I was relieved!! 😀

A few days here, a few days there. It ended up with me being without my laptop for close to 2 weeks and the whole time I was worrying and wondering what has actually happened. It was not a good 2 weeks for me. I got my laptop back the very day that I was leaving KL for Milan. I didn’t have a chance to do anything.

Got back and got right into all my other travels and work. By the end of each day, I was too tired out to blog. Though I took tons of photos to blog about. 🙂

That is my long story short of why I had a forced absence from the blogging scene.

No promises but I hope to be back soon. I feel bad for saying that I will be back soon and then I go missing again for a while. 😦

Unforseen circumstances

Mousey is taking a long forced break not because she wanted to but she had to.

Even now, she is blogging on the go and from her new Samsung Note 2!! Yes, she traded in her HTC and got something that meets her needs better.  She will try to blog again soon. Hopefully nothing unexpected crops up.

She will try to fill in the gaps of her boringly adventurous shenanigans. Check back soon.

All my bags are packed….

…..I am ready to go! In less than 6 hours I have to be out of the house and on my way to Asia. I know I have been quiet on the blogging front and this is due to the fact that for the next 3 weeks it will be packed for me. I get back into town in 2 weeks time and the very next day I leave for Padua (Padova). I will have no time to get anything ready for Padua. So, I had to get anything I can, done now in the last few days and hope everything works out as planned in the end. 🙂

Also because of this, I missed some me time. Meaning, gym time. Laundry to get done between windy and rainy days so that I don’t have a mountain to get through in a month’s time. All the planning and ordering, buying and packaging to get things ready for the Moto Auto Storiche exhibition for the end of this month in Padua.

All this rush because this trip was planned last Tuesday. It was planned for a departure a week later but things happened that made it necessary for us to bring this trip a week forward. Hence the rush.

Anyway, I am excited for this trip. I am going home with a few stops in between. Stay tuned, and I will update as I go. I will, I promise. 🙂 😛

Now to get some shut I before the long journey home.
